Last Sunday’s game ended in a decent win. We had the advantage in height (hello blocked shots and rebounding), we were bigger in size and we had guys who could finish.
In contrast, the other team was hesitant on passing, their passes were obvious and there were unforced turnovers from botched passes. It was a matter of disrupting their passes, and making our shots.
The biggest advantage however, was that we had guys taking it in hard. Guys like Emre, James and Gary, who made the other team foul and racked up a ton of free throws. That was a decisive advantage going into the second half, cementing a solid win over an opponent that had only six guys.
A ten point win that could have been more but I’ll take what we got; it was good to see everyone putting in effort to get the win that night. I liked Gary’s hustle especially – the guy just outran everyone else back from the other half into the paint to stop a layup in transition. If I was his coach, that would’ve been full Tommy points, no questions asked.
