Talking the talk, and walking the walk.

Everyone knows talk is cheap. Flapping your gums is easy, backing the words up with talk is something else.

Sad truth: not everyone values commitment to the word or about making thought into action. I for one, believe in promises. Never promise on something you cannot deliver, and always do your best to keep your end of the deal. This is part of the reason why I’m such a stickler for keeping to plans made.

Admittedly, it is difficult to always keep one’s word, but the intangible value behind one’s reputation and trustworthiness is in a word, immeasurable. Trust is a rare commodity, and building trust requires that your word be firm. If your promises are always empty and full of wind, it will be hard for anyone to believe what you say.

Trust, and commitment. So remember, if you make a promise, back it up. If you can’t, apologise sincerely, seek the other party’s forgiveness and make sure it does not happen again.

All that we look for in life, is trust and relationships. Make your first step today, and begin building the trust.
