Compliments are like beers.

Good only in limited doses. The minute you chug one, you feel slightly good. The more you get, the more you feel like you are floating on air, and soon enough your brain loses its ability to think straight.

That being said, I’m still feeling good about an inadvertent compliment I got today.

“By the way, you write very well for someone who comes from an IT background and no formal journalistic experience.”

One beer.

Not the first time I’ve had this from others, but it is both reaffirmation and recognition from an industry professional. Truly, life is about good little moments like these.
